Videography Workshop with Betty Binon at the Foxglove Farm
It’s taken me a teensy bit longer than I wanted to edit and post these photos to the blog. Back in July, I took a quick plane trip to Ontario to take part in a video and photography workshop with the talented and lovely Betty from Stems and Forks.
It was one part of learning and one part vacation for me. My first plane trip in two years since the pandemic felt great, but even more so the location filled my bones with the outdoor charm I crave. Hosted by owners of Valley of Mother of God Gin on their quaint Foxglove Farmhouse in Alliston.
Days were filled with packed full of a mix of instructional learning and hands-on experience. And the nights were filled with laughter, delicious food, and spectacular gin of course.
I met the following incredible and talented women who are creating their own killer content.
Check them out on Instagram and give them a follow:
The caterer, The Cookhaus, was beyond words. I still dream about her homemade bread and jams for breakfast and the killer tomato salad with blue cheese that I think a few of us have already tried to recreate, including myself.
Some of my biggest takeaways were around finding and refining your voice, which for me also includes a constant questioning of ‘what do I want to be when I grow up’. It was also amazing to see Betty’s creative process in action from start to finish.
Oh, and we got to see the motel where they filmed Schitt’s Creek too!
Here is the video I created during the workshop and a few of my favourite photos.
Forever grateful for the knowledge gained and friendships forged.
